Canberra Camp

Hey all, as most of you know, i was on canberra camp most of last week, and during my stay, i noticed a few things. I saw how different our lives as Christians, (though we're ALL sinners) are to my friends, who are non-Christians (though one apparently goes to church lol). It reminded me of the session about purity we had a few weeks ago. One of them brought along a zoo magazine and a ralph magazine (i'm assuming we know what type of mags they are) and it was awkward being one of the only ones in my cabin to not crowd around it. They also seemed to enjoy speaking about sexual things and jokes... i laughed along i'll admit, but still i felt that it was weird and wrong altogether.

Most of the nights, when i was awake to listen, my friends would often have conversations about 'who they would do on this camp' or 'which girl had the prettiest face' etc. and luckily i was on the bottom bunk, so i had more of a chance of avoiding the conversation. I again felt weird about these topics, so i either just listened silently or just slept, hoping to avoid these types of topics.

On the third night, one of them suggested the idea of making a sparkler bomb thing (for those who dont know what that is, basically it's lighting the powder from a sparkler in a can or holed conatiner of some sort). We walked quite far from our cabins, so we couldn't be seen. It was 3/4 of the way where i was told it was an illegal act, and immediately i felt that wrong awkwardness. The darkness kinda added to that as well. When we were making it, i was thinking "well you can't really back out now, you're a little far from the cabins in the dark, and you don't want to look like a wuss or whatever". So the best i could do was just watch and provide light. I tried to avoid taking part as much as i could because it felt way wrong, as if i were stealing something or smoking or whatever lol. It was cool to look at though :P but as we were looking back i was just hoping that God wasn't upset, or that it wasn't that bad a thing etc.

Overall, camp was ok. Twas slightly better than i thought it would be, but it was still quite monotonous T_T. At least i had a little bit of fun with the other things i did with my friends :P (Of course, Church camp was WAAAAAAAY better xD)
Lol not that it's sinful or anything, but our cabin was a dump, my friends were chucking their cans everywhere lol like the bogans they are ^^" So near the end of camp i was quite surprised at how much 'cleaner' our lives are (or should be lol) with God. If our lives are getting to be a mess, talk to God about it, and he can help you clean it up. (you should clean up at least some of your own dirty work lol :P)
