"don't be afraid!"

I think i may be a little bit ahead on the daily bible readings, but eh.
[John 6:16-21]
We all know of when Jesus walked on water.

What I personally didn't know/realise was how meaningful that passage is.
What I got from those verses was simply to not be afraid nor worry because Jesus will always be there to help you. That may be a little obvious near the end, but I think i more overlooked the circumstances that the disciples were in:
  • "..as darkness fell and Jesus hadn't come back..."
  • "Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough."
Most definitely, life is not a peaceful boat ride. Especially for me, being in year 12, I feel that the waters around me are starting to get a little bit rough--chem exam is coming up, got lots of other stuff to prepare etc. Sometimes we might feel that we are in a state of darkness ourselves, with no one to talk to, no way of getting out.
But God reminded me through that passage, "Don't be afraid. I am here!"
And as it concludes, if we are eager to let Him into our boat, we will immediately arrive at our destination, wherever God plans that to be.

It really surprises me how these passages that we have come across and heard many times before carry so much more meaning than we realise.
