Today, through the reading the first 3 chapters of Exodus, God has once again showed me how awesome and POWERFUL He truly is.
Jacob's story at the end of Genesis is already amazing - he was captured as a kid, jailed for "seducing" the Pharaoh's wife, interpreted dreams of the Pharaoh, and then became the second man of Egypt, ruling under Pharaoh's supervision (basically!)
And now, in Exodus, his and his brothers' descendents have multiplied and created a HUGE mass (amount? haha) of Israelites in Egypt.
And then it's Moses' turn! His mum must have had so much trouble trying to keep him quiet, and it would have been TERRIFYING if any Egyptian authoritative figures came to inspect houses. It's like trying to hide your phone when teachers come around to check your work! (But of course, waaaaay worse and the concequences of course, are multiplied by 10000000)
Anyway, the fact that Moses lived and under such good conditions too (son of Pharaoh's daughter, wow!) is truly a miracle and one of the great plans of God.
And so it struck me: The same God who watches over me, protects AND loves me is the SAME Almighty God who instructed Moses and struck the Egyptians with His very, very powerful Hand. THAT alone makes me feel honoured and speechless that I am able to KNOW and HAVE A RELATIONSHIP with Him!!!
He destroyed a whole country (a very, very powerful country at the time too) with plagues, diseases, etc. just to rescue His people, the Israelites, out of slavery, because He "was concerned about them". - Exodus 2:25
God loves His people so much that He would do almost anything to rescue them. Knowing this, it makes Him WAYYYYY greater than ANY of my miniscule problems and everyday-life-situations. GOD IS AMAZING! Words truly CANNOT describe His greatness.
AMEN!
