This post is actually a day overdue, so this was meant to be for wednesday.
From the moment i stepped within the school grounds, it was like i had passed through a barrier, back into reality and out of the comfort of having other believers to support me.
I felt really vulnerable and susceptible to the influence of all the non-believers in my class. They acted so differently to you guys, even though they had all been in my class for 3 years, in a matter of 4 days(the length of the camp), my perspective of them had completely changed. I couldn't connect with them, at least not the way I had with every one of you guys.
And later that day, during a health class, we had an activity called "Auction Of Values". We each had $1000 dollars to bid and hopefully buy any of 30 values. Among these 30 values, there were only 3 that wasn't either self-centered or for one's benefit: World peace, World Prosperity and Ability to give and take love. The values that were bid on the most and sold the fastest were the ones that were more self-centered. The more selfish the value, the quicker it was sold. And so that's how I bought out World Prosperity and World Peace. I spent a while in shock, thinking about just how selfish the world is.
Later that day, after reading the passage for the day and having done devotion, I stumbled upon the verse:
"Whose sandals I am not worthy to untie"
Which as both Aaron and Josh have pointed out, we must humble ourselves before God.
No matter what values the world around us abides by, we must continue to abide by God's values.
Anyways, sorry for the late post, I'll make sure to post earlier next time XD.
Hope everyone has a Godly first week of school, and remember to pray for those who need our prayers (:
P.S. Oooh and pray for Baptism Classes this Sunday too!
Awesome stuff!. Continue to work for his Glory, remain in him and he will remain in you.
